In-Mold Decoration
In-mold decoration is a process for labeling or decorating a plastic object during the plastic injection molding process.
The mold closes and molten plastic resin is injected into the mold where it conforms to the shape of the object.
The hot plastic envelops the label or decoration and makes it an integral part of the molded object.
The difference between glue applied labels and in-mold labels is that a glue applied label is stuck “on” the surface of the plastic object; the in-mold label is embedded “in” the wall of the object.
Our creative, skilled staff will help you label your products with our durable in-mold decoration process.
CNC Machining
CNC machining is a process that is used to achieve finished dimensions not usually attainable through the injection molding process.
The plastic part is held in place by a fixture and machining is accomplished by using various cutting tools depending on the type of plastic. This is done using CNC machining centers with multi-axis capability.
By using this process, Plastic Molded Concepts is able to obtain dimensions to the fourth decimal in inches.
Hot Stamping
Hot stamping is defined as a dry printing process, which uses controlled heat, pressure, and precision timing to transfer a color pigment from foil to surfaces of varied shapes and materials.
This process forms a permanent bond between the custom plastic injection molded part and the foil.
The advantages of hot stamping include:
- Increased Productivity
- Multiple Colors in 1 Step
- Variety of Available Materials & Finishes
Pad Printing
The printing of finished custom plastic injection molded parts is a very popular way of increasing the visual aesthetics of the part for a relatively low cost.
At Plastic Molded Concepts, pad printing is just another way to carry out printing of a wide variety of inks onto plastic parts.
Pad printing is also a highly reliable process and can produce parts to a very high standard.
Six pads, using 5 colors, can be programmed using a touch screen panel interface so that the sequence of printing can be optimized.
It is possible to print large parts and parts that have uneven surfaces.
This process is beneficial as it allows a wide range of graphics to be printed on to the surface of the molding with little difficulty.
