ApplicationsAcetal Copolymer resin is used in applications requiring a combination of strength, low moisture absorption, chemical resistance and dimensional stability. It’s also used for high-performance engineering components. Acetal Copolymer is widely used in the consumer electronics industry and the automotive industry.

Specific applications for Acetal Copolymer resin include:

  • Bushings

  • Rollers

  • Wear Strips

  • Small Gear Wheels

  • Ball Bearings

  • Fasteners

  • Gas Meters

  • Medical Technology

  • Disposable Applications

  • Aerosol Valves

  • Lock Systems

  • Fuel Tank Modules

AdvantagesAcetal Copolymer resin is used for its high strength, rigidity, toughness and dimensional stability. It also has good wear and friction properties that can be improved by compounding with additives.

Like Acetal Homopolymer resin, the Copolymer is easy to machine. However, compared to Homopolymer, Acetal Copolymer resin exhibits better resistance to organic & inorganic solvents and acids.
DisadvantagesThe disadvantages of Acetal Copolymer resin include:

  • Longer molding cycle times

  • Sinks

  • Relatively High Cost
